What Are the Fines for Wyoming Speeding Tickets?

In Wyoming, speeding ticket fines depend on the type of violation, the driver's speed, and where the violation occurred.

Wyoming's Basic and Maximum Speed Limit Laws

Wyoming has a basic speeding law and maximum speed limits. The basic speeding law prohibits driving at a speed that is faster than “reasonable and prudent” given the current conditions and road attributes. Maximum speed limits (sometimes called “absolute limits”) just set the top lawful speed on the particular portion of the roadway. (Wyo. Stat. Ann. § 31-5-301 (2025).)
